Lodge Tyre Charity Golf Day - 3rd August 2016
Each summer we host a charity golf day to raise funds for some very deserving charities. This year, having enjoyed a fantastic 18 holes at Alsager Golf Club on 3rd August we were delighted to present the following charities with cheques for £1000 each. We are proud to support each and every one of them and thank everyone who took part in the day. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Lodge rolls into Manchester with opening of 21st depot
Independent tyre fitter Lodge Tyre Company Ltd made further inroads into the Northwest with the opening of it's new Salford depot this week. The family run business headquartered in Birmingham and celebrating it's 80th year of trading this year, now operates 21 depots throughout the Midlands and Northwest.
The new depot, situated in Lord Byron Square in Salford and within easy reach of the M56, M60, M61, M62 and M67 motorway network is ideally located to service Lodge's expanding Business to Business customer list as well as their mobile response service. The depot will initially be used as a stocking unit employing three people and managed by long time Lodge employee Jamie Davies.
Martyn Lodge, Finance Director at Lodge Tyres and Great Grandson of the original founder George Edmund Lodge said: "We are pleased to finally be up and running in the Manchester area with our Salford depot. We've been looking for the right location ever since we decided to pursue plans to expand into the Northwest several years ago. We've always been identified with Birmingham and the Midlands but we have invested in depots in St Helens, Liverpool and now Manchester in the last few years. The region is buzzing and we are keen to offer our customers in the Northwest the best service we can. We now have 21 depots and over 100 mobile response vehicles in our fleet and so far our move into the Northwest is paying off."
Martyn added: "Despite our expansion, we now employ over 200 people, we work hard to retain the 'family run' feel of the place and that is why we are delighted that Jamie is managing the new depot. He first joined us as a tyre fitter at our Stoke depot before moving to St Helens as assistant manager and now to Salford. We're confident both Jamie and the Salford depot will do well."

Lodge recognised at Apprenticeship Awards
Lodge Tyre recently entered the Medium Apprenticeship Employer for the West Midlands award at The National Apprenticeship Awards and are proud to say we came second in our category.
Over 1400 businesses entered so we are delighted to have got so close - next year hopefully we will go one step further!
Congratulations and thanks to all our apprentices and staff whose hard work and commitment make our apprenticeship programme a success and thanks also to Heart of England Training for delivering our training.

Lodge Launch Wolverhampton Depot
Lodge Tyre Co Ltd has joined forces with Midland Tyre Control by taking over the tyre distribution and servicing side of the business, forming our 12th depot.
As of the 1st June 2012 Lodge Tyre launched the new Wolverhampton depot which opens up a larger service area for Lodge Tyre and provides extra support to the nearby Telford and Walsall depots. All the staff have been retained at the Wolverhampton depot and the staff from the Worcestershire branch of MTC have been amalgamated into our relatively new Droitwich depot which itself has come on leaps and bounds since opening in May last year. Managing Director Andrew Christmas is “excited about the new opportunities that the depot presents in the area” adding that he feels “both companies will benefit greatly from working closely together.”
The Wolverhampton depot is located just off the Black Country route, taking the Coseley Road exit you’ll find it just past the fire station. The depot caters for both Commercial and Car customers so feel free to drop in and speak to the manager Steve Leighton if you’re in the area. Lodge Tyre has coverage from North Staffs through to Northamptonshire and can cover all points throughout the greater Midlands area.

Newly Refurbished... Lodge Tyre Talke
Talke depot is in the final stages of a large refurbishment programme which includes the installation of a Class IV/VII MOT inspection pit, the creation of a car wash bay, a 4 wheel computerised laser alignment bay, new customer waiting room/reception facilities and a tidier image with new signage and decoration throughout. With this investment we want to drive the depot forward as the premier Auto Centre for motorists in the North Staffs area.

New commercial tyre depot in Stoke-on-Trent
New commercial tyre depot has opened up in the Longport area of Stoke-on-Trent. Offering comprehensive fleet management and commercial laser alignment the depot is well placed to cover commercial, industrial and plant equipment through the North Staffs area.

The 9th Annual Charity Golf Day
The 3rd August 2011 saw Lodge Tyre’s 9th Annual Charity Golf Competition. Over the past 8 years the event has raised in excess of £70,000 which has gone to extremely worthy causes; Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Myeloma UK and the M S Society to name but a few of the charities who have benefited from this day. This year as with previous years was just as successful raising in the region of £8,000 for charity.
The Lodge Tyre Charity Golf day, now in its 9th successful year, has helped to raise in excess of £70’000 for very worthwhile causes; Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Myeloma and the M S Society to name but a few of the charities that have benefited over the years.
The day consists of the main golf competition where golfers of all levels compete against each other in teams of four with prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. As a new twist on the longest drive competition this year we had nearest the barrel with the winner taking away a thirst quenching prize! After fierce battle on the greens comes fierce battle in the auction room as participants, having enjoyed a three course meal, bid for fantastic prizes all donated by Lodge Tyres very generous customers and suppliers. This ensures that every penny of the money bid goes to charity.
